Lighting and OBS: The Cheapest Way to Double Your Income

Want to know what separates a $200 night from a $2,000 night? It's not the camera. It's the lighting and the stream setup. Here's how to get it right.

Ask any girl who's been camming for more than a year what changed her income the most, and she'll say the same thing. It wasn't a new outfit. It wasn't a 4K camera. It was the lighting.

Sounds boring, we know. But stick with us, because this is the single cheapest thing you can do to make more money tonight.

Why lighting matters so much

Viewers scroll past dozens of streams a minute. They look at the thumbnail and the first second of video. That's it. If your room is dim, grainy, or yellow, they keep scrolling. If your face is bright and clear, they click.

Once they click, they stay. And once they stay, they tip. The whole thing starts with whether they click in the first place.

The setup that works

You don't need to spend a fortune. Here's the basic three-light setup that we recommend to every girl on our roster:

  • Two soft key lights in front of you, angled at about 45 degrees
  • One warmer fill light behind you for depth
  • All bulbs the same colour temperature (5000K is a safe bet)

You can pick the whole lot up for under $150. Some of our top earners spent $80 total on lighting. It's not about price, it's about placement.

What to avoid

  • Overhead ceiling lights (they cast shadows under your eyes)
  • Sitting with a window behind you (you'll look like a silhouette)
  • Mixing warm and cool bulbs (your skin will look weird)

OBS — the bit everyone overcomplicates

OBS scares people off. It looks like flight simulator software when you first open it. It really isn't that bad once someone shows you what each setting does.

The targets you want are simple. 1080p resolution, 30 frames per second, bitrate around 4500 to 6000 kbps. Most platforms will accept higher, but a stream that buffers or drops frames loses viewers in seconds. Stable beats fancy every time.

We sit down with every model on signing day and get OBS configured properly. Scenes, filters, audio, the whole lot. By the time we're done your stream looks the part.

Already streaming and not getting the views you want? It's almost always lighting. Send us a screenshot of your room and we'll tell you what to change.
