How to Start as a Webcam Model

Thinking about giving webcam modelling a go? Here's exactly what you need, what your first week looks like, and what you can actually expect to earn.

So you're thinking about becoming a webcam model. Maybe you've seen girls online talking about how much they make, maybe a friend mentioned it, or maybe you just want a flexible job that actually pays well. Whatever brought you here, you probably have the same questions everyone else does. What do I need? Where do I start? Will I make any money?

We get these questions every single day. Here's the honest version.

What you actually need

It's a much shorter list than people think. You don't need fancy equipment to start, and you definitely don't need a studio.

  • A laptop or PC that isn't ancient
  • A decent webcam (a basic one is fine to start)
  • Stable WiFi (no buffering allowed)
  • A private room you can stream from
  • Photo ID for verification

That's genuinely it. The lighting and OBS setup we sort with you once you sign, and we'll talk you through every bit of it.

Picking the right platform

There are loads of cam sites out there, but two of them get the lion's share of the traffic: Stripchat and Chaturbate. Most of our girls work both because there's no reason not to. More platforms means more eyes on you, which means more money.

OnlyFans is a different beast. It's not live streaming, it's content and DMs. A lot of our models run it alongside their cam shifts because it builds a second income from the same audience.

What your first week looks like

Day one is the chat with us. Quick, private, no pressure. We talk through what you want out of it, what you're comfortable with, and which platforms suit you best.

After that we help you get verified, get OBS set up properly, and get your room looking the part. Most girls are streaming within 48 hours of signing.

How much can you actually make?

This is the question, isn't it. The truthful answer is it depends entirely on you. The girls who treat it like a job, do consistent hours, and put effort into their stream do really well. The ones who log in for an hour every other day don't.

Realistically, a new model putting in 20 hours a week can clear $500 to $1,000 in their first month or two. Once you've got regulars and you know what works, that number jumps fast. We have girls on $3,000+ weeks who started six months ago with zero experience.

Want to see what your first month could look like? Drop us a message. We'll be straight with you about what's realistic.
